Tuesday’s lunchtime talk is guaranteed to offer food for thought. Making bits of city takes time. Architecture and design critic, Oliver Wainwright will explore time in relation to the Olympic site: from accommodating the 2-week sporting spectacle, to its transformation in Legacy mode - a new urban quarter planned to evolve over the next thirty years.

Oliver Wainwright is features editor of BD and has written for a number of international publications, including Icon, Frieze and the Architect’s Journal, as well as the Times and Guardian. An authority on urbanism, he has worked with Rem Koolhaas at the Office for Metropolitan Architecture, Rotterdam and the Mayor of London’s urban design team, Design for London.

Also exploring the theme of time is Emma Gibson: creative researcher for Selfridges, broadcaster of The Butcher's Apron Radio Show, and founding member of The John Hour Art Collective. This self-proclaimed inveterate turner of stones and pusher of snowballs  will be telling us how she manages to trend-spy far into the future, and her plans for an exciting new radio feature spanning over 50 years, called Is it ever too late?
